Rare-earth mediated dihydrogen activation and catalytic hydrogenation

چکیده

This review covers H–H bond cleavage of dihydrogen (H2) mediated by structurally well-defined rare-earth metal (scandium, yttrium and lanthanides) complexes, their applications in homogenous catalysis, such as catalytic hydrogenation unsaturated organic molecules. Depending on the mechanism cleavage, this is organized two parts: (1) ?-bond metathesis, (2) non-?-metathesis H2 activation. The latter a new trend research field emphasis review. Converting into inorganic polyhydride albeit potential hydrogen-storage materiel, not scope

Boryl-mediated reversible H2 activation at cobalt: catalytic hydrogenation, dehydrogenation, and transfer hydrogenation.

We describe the synthesis of a cobalt(I)-N2 complex (2) supported by a meridional bis-phosphino-boryl (PBP) ligand. Complex 2 undergoes a clean reaction with 2 equiv of dihydrogen to afford a dihydridoboratocobalt dihydride (3). The ability of boron to switch between a boryl and a dihydridoborate conformation makes possible the reversible conversion of 2 and 3. Complex 3 reacts with HMe2N-BH3 t...

Homogeneous CO hydrogenation: dihydrogen activation involves a frustrated Lewis pair instead of a platinum complex.

During a search for conditions appropriate for Pt-catalyzed CO reduction using dihydrogen directly, metal-free conditions were discovered instead. A bulky, strong phosphazene base forms a "frustrated" Lewis pair (FLP) with a trialkylborane in the secondary coordination sphere of a rhenium carbonyl. Treatment of the FLP with dihydrogen cleanly affords multiple hydride transfers and C-C bond form...

Heterolytic dihydrogen activation with the 1,8-bis(diphenylphosphino)naphthalene/B(C6F5)3 pair and its application for metal-free catalytic hydrogenation of silyl enol ethers.

The "frustrated Lewis pair" 1,8-bis(diphenylphosphino)naphthalene/B(C6F5)3 reversibly activates dihydrogen; it serves as an active catalyst for the hydrogenation of silyl enol ethers under mild reaction conditions.

LATTICE LOCATION AND OPTICAL ACTIVATION OF RARE EARTH IMPLANTED GaN

This paper reviews the current knowledge on rare earths (REs) implanted into GaN with a special focus on their lattice location and on the optical activation by means of thermal annealing. While emission channeling experiments have given information on the lattice location of rare earths following low-dose (≈10 cm) implantation, both in the asimplanted state and after annealing up to 900°C, the...

Catalytic Hydrogenation of Benzoic Acid

Hydrogenation of benzoic acid using monoand bimetallic catalyst of Ru, Pd, Co, and Re yielded different products. It was observed that 5% Ru/C was an active catalyst for hydrogenation of both aromatic ring and carboxylic group, while Pd/C catalyst hydrogenated only aromatic ring. Ru-Sn/Al2O3 is a chemoselective catalyst for hydrogenation of –COOH group of benzoic acid.
